Today's Scripture - September 4

Scripture:
Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. (Mark 14:38)

Thought:
Obedience is the outward expression of your love of God. If you have an obedience problem, you have a love problem. Mark's Gospel gives us a picture of the love problems of the disciples. They kept arguing over who was to be first in the Kingdom. They slept while He prayed in Gethsemane, even after Jesus invited them to pray with Him. How are you answering Christ's invitation to pray to the Father so you can deepen your love relationship with Him?

Prayer:
Lord Jesus, temptation is so real. My only hope is to have a strong love relationship with You that leads me not into temptation and delivers me from evil. God, as You led Jesus to deal with Satan's temptations, so help me. Amen.
